Request Help

Fountain of Youth provides support for birthdays, milestones, and special opportunities for children in foster care. Here’s how to apply.

Who Is Eligible

Children from infant to 18 years old with open child welfare cases who are living in:

  • Licensed foster care
  • Kinship care
  • Group homes
  • Residential care under the supervision of their state or local child welfare agency

Who Can Submit an Application

Applications may be submitted by:

  • Caseworkers
  • CASA/Guardian ad Litem staff
  • Foster parents
  • Kinship caregivers
  • Group home or residential center staff

Application information is safeguarded and kept strictly confidential, accessible only to authorized Fountain of Youth Foundation staff solely for the purpose of fulfilling requests.

What You Can Request

Funding is available across several categories below. Some categories allow multiple items within a total limit. Please review each category carefully before submitting a request.

Birthdays

*You may request any combination of the options below, up to $250 total per child per year.

  • Gifts or Party Supplies
    • Must be available on Amazon
    • Include complete descriptions and links in the application
  • Parties:
    • Local venues such as skating rinks, indoor play centers, or arcades
    • Payment made directly to the venue
    • Include complete description and contact info in the application

Sports

*You may request any combination of the options below, up to $250 total per child per year.

  • Registration fees
    • Payment made directly to the team or league
    • Include registration details and contact info in the application
  • Equipment
    • Must be available on Amazon
    • Include complete descriptions and links in the application

Special Occasions

*Up to two requests per child per year, up to $125 per request

  • Gifts for graduation or milestone events
    • Must be available on Amazon
    • Include complete descriptions and links in the application
  • Other examples include:
    • Prom tickets
    • School field trips
    • Other school-related or special activities
  • Payment made directly to the school or provider
  • Include complete descriptions and contact info in the application

Lessons or Classes

*Up to $250 total per child per year.

  • Examples: art, music, drama, gymnastics, karate, swimming
  • Payment made directly to the provider (include description and contact info in the application)
  • Additional funding: considered case by case

Camp

  • Registration fee up to $250 per child per year
    • Payment made directly to the camp
    • Include description and contact info in the application

What to Expect After Submitting

You will receive an email within 14 business days confirming your request has been granted or requesting additional information if needed.

After Your Request Is Fulfilled

Please submit a brief message from the child, caregiver, or other involved adult that we can use on our website and in our social media to share our successes and encourage donors to give generously. We will never use full names, locations or other identifying information when we post these thank-yous.
