Who We Are

Fountain of Youth (FOY) was founded by professionals with years of experience inside the foster care system—judges, magistrates, and attorneys who have represented youth, foster parents, and adoptive families. We’ve seen the challenges firsthand, and we’re committed to making a difference.

We know the statistics:

350,000+ children are in foster care in the U.S.

175, 000+ children enter foster care each year

65% remain in care for more than a year, and 20% for three years or longer

60–75% of children are separated from their siblings

1 in 3 children experience at least three placement changes in a single year

20,000+ youth age out of foster care each year without a permanent family

Beyond the Numbers

Behind every statistic is a story.
We’ve walked alongside:

  • Foster parents who open their hearts and homes
  • Relatives and friends who step up in emergency situations
  • Unsung heroes who provide stability, patience, and unconditional love
  • Children who are resilient, smart, funny, and talented—despite unimaginable challenges

These children deserve the simple joys of childhood: opening birthday gifts chosen just for them, joining a sports team, taking music lessons, or going to camp.

Why We Founded FOY

We created Fountain of Youth to shine a light on the realities of foster care—and to connect children in need with people who have generous hearts. Together, we can provide moments of joy, support healing, and create opportunities for brighter futures.
